Dr Brene Brown

“We can do hard things.” …an antidote for the quick and easy world. Navigating a culture of never enough. People living whole hearted lives… Answer is HOPE. But what hope really is, is… It’s not an emotion at all… But is a cognitive thinking approach… That is totally teachable. Hope = goals / pathways / agency (I believe I can do this). Hope is a function of struggle. People with highest levels of hope have most experiences of failure, and have perseverance and tenacity. I believe in my ability to get there even if I have to Plan B it. Requires experiences of failure. The moment of final success – thumbs up – is a gift. Hope is function of struggle, and product of not tying to sense of who we are as people. “dreams don’t work unless we do.”
